Process Of Film Magazine Production...

This is the original image.
I wanted to edit this because there is too much light at the side and you can see the stairs and a radiator. I wanted to just make this plain black so that "the man" really stands out.

I used the gradient tool on photoshop edit out the edges of the image.

I then repeated this using black to get the colour and effect I wanted.

For the title, I inserted the text into another photoshop document.

I then used the magic tool to delete the backround of the image.

I repeated this on areas that were not picked up.

I then dragged the text onto my background image.

I inserted a skyline, achorage text, the issue number and date, and the barcode and price.

Lastly I added sell lines to my magazine cover.

So far I am pleased with the results as this is my first draft, but audience feedback will inform me of how I can improve it.

Fonts For Film Magazine...

I know that the title of my magazine will be pulse and so I wanted the main font to represent this.
I typed into Google "fonts that look like a heart monitor" and the two fonts above were the closest thing I could find to what I wanted.
I prefer the bottom one and so will be using this as I think the text is easier to read. I also think that out of two it looks more like a heart monitor.

The website that I found the text on is:

Film Poster: Draft 1...

This is the first draft of my poster, however I am not happy with the results and so I am going to use the same image but change the way items are laid out. I am also not happy with the background and so I will change this also.

Process Of Film Poster Production...

I started off by cutting around my image and using a black background.

I put the text I wanted to use in photoshop.

I then used the magic wand tool to delete the background of it.

I used the paint bucket tool to make the text appear white.

I then dragged and dropped it onto my image and background.

Lastly, I inserted the date of release onto the poster.

Results from poll...

I created a poll to find out what name would be th emost popular for a film magzine.
The three that got the most votes were: Pulse, Tension and Rush.
The most popular was Pulse, therefore this is what I will call my film magazine.
